Principal's Spotlight on Learning: Our Employees

Our educators are leaders in their field and create meaningful learning opportunities for all students.

Sitting within every classroom are many students with different learning styles. Our teachers found innovative ways to extend learning to ensure all students have the opportunity to master standards in ways that support their learning needs. Student can be heard singing or chanting things to support auditory learners; they can be seen air writing or sound tapping to support the kinesthetic learner; or are actively watching slides or examples for our visual learners. Through Professional Development and Professional Learning Collaborations, teachers talk about practices to support this learning variety. The idea of lecture and listen has been proven ineffective for all, and the staff at Glen Carbon does a great job of meeting the needs of our diverse learners!
